TECH4O® SPONSORS 2012 TRAIL RUNNER TROPHY SERIES
Binghamton, N.Y. (March 2012)
Johnson Outdoors’
Tech4o (Technology for Outdoors), today announced its sponsorship
of the Trail Runner Trophy Series,
the largest points–based off-road running series in North America consisting of
138 trail races from March 1 through September 30, 2012.
"Trail racing has become one of the
most popular outdoor activities in the U.S. over the past few years and we are
excited to work with Trail Runner to
help bring awareness to this great outdoor activity,” said Linda Grebe, product
manager of Tech4o. "Our Discover GPS watches are a great
training companion for those interested in learning more about their personal
performance and tracking their progress over time. We wish everyone joining the
Series the best of luck.”
All participants who
finish a Trail Runner Trophy Series Race are automatically entered into
the Series. Each racer earns points for completing a race and bonus points for
finishing in the top three. The top three male and female winners in the
Marathon and Longer Division, and the male and female with the most Trophy
Series points in their age groups in the Non-marathon Division at the end of
the series, will be awarded prize packages donated by sponsoring companies. Tech4o
is sponsoring the Series with financial support as well as a product donation
of its Discover watches. For

The Discover watch is a
lightweight GPS training watch designed to capture and report detailed
information about each workout, whether it be running, cycling, hiking or
sailing. It uses a high-sensitivity GPS chip with exceptional signal
strength to track and display metrics distance covered and average speed
and provides a function to auto map a route. The route traveled, as well as speed, distance, altitude,
maximum and minimum heart rate, calorie burn, etc. are collected and viewable
via a customizable LED display for a quick and easy read. The data is also
recorded to an internal log for tracking and statistics over time. After a workout,
consumers can use the PC-compatible software that interfaces with Google Earth
to upload their entire route and obtain more detailed information about it,
including how fast they went over any given segment.
